Corona virus and club training

Corona virus and club training

Please note the following regarding the Coronavirus pandemic and how it may affect us as a club.

As things currently stand we intend to continue with training as per the training schedule we currently have in place utilising the range of venues at our disposal, being Hannakins, Billericay School and Gloucester Park Track, and so for the next two weeks at least we are scheduled to be at Billericay School.

Please follow the government advice in relation to the virus, specifically please do not attend any club sessions if you have any of the following symptoms

·         A cough

·         High temperature

·         Shortness of breath

Please also do not attend sessions if you have been advised to self-isolate for any reason such as being in contact with an affected person or returning from a country with a high risk of Coronavirus in the past 14 days.

To try and reduce the risk of transmission at club please try to gather outside of the club room rather than inside, the room will still be open for people to leave tops, keys etc. in there, but we will endeavour not to gather in there before or after the session.

We will provide hand wash / sanitizer (if we can find any!) in the club room, and will look to take hand sanitizer with us when we are at Billericay School, and Gloucester Park.

Below is the link from England Athletics on Coronavirus. Please feel free to give it a read.

England Athletics statement reads: Based on current government advice, there are currently no plans to cancel, postpone or otherwise change any of the national, regional or local competition and events England Athletics delivers, but several international events have been postponed.

Please make your own decision as to whether to continue to attend club sessions and other running events.  If you do choose to attend please take all reasonable precautions to minimise contact with other people and to maintain high standards of hygiene.

We will keep you informed of any  changes to the advice given to sports clubs as the situation changes over the next few weeks.

Many thanks
